Meeting Date: May 4, 2010 at 6pm

The Delta Artists Society is an nonprofit organization composed of individuals joining together to encourage an interest in and an appreciation of the visual arts.

DAS PHOTO SHOOT-FIELD TRIP:

The event was attended by James, Clara, Pat and Sara.  It was a productive and pleasurable day.  Beginning in West Memphis, we visited Marion, Earle, Crawfordsville and Wapanocca Reservation Area and were able to take numerous interesting photographs and returning home to enjoy a nice Mexican lunch.

ANNUAL DAS SPRING SHOW:

It was announced at the last meeting that through the lack of communication and scheduling problems, the Annual Spring Art show will not be held this coming Spring.  Hopefully, a new venue will be found for the future Spring Show next year.

Who is the Delta Artists Society?

You may have been wondering who is the DAS anyway.  We are local artist of the West Memphis/Marion/Horseshoe Lake.

We meet the First Tuesday of each month at he Lois Wallin Rich Center for the Arts, #14-C Holiday Plaza, West Memphis at 6pm.

We host the hosts the Crittenden Arts Council Regional Art Show every year.  ( We mainly take in the art,the dues, and hang.)

We have art displays throughout Crittenden County including West Memphis Chamber of Commerce, Crittenden Arts Council, West Memphis Public Library, and more.

At the meeting (which is formalize but casual ) we discuss our plans for that month and what we are going to do for the year.  We have elected officials, have a dues/offerings, a demonstration, and FOOD.  But mainly we talk to each other catching up on what’s new.

I’m writing an open invitation to any artist in the area to come and visit us.  And don’t worry the dues are $10 due in June of each year.
