We open the meeting late while we wait on everyone to arrive.
For 30yrs, it was mention, that the meeting was held at 7pm for those who worked.
James announced the committees.
Sandy read the minutes from last month which included both old and new business. Minutes were approved.
The only change in the committees is that the displays have been rearranged. Donations of paintings are needed and should be delivered to Sandy at Shear Tek. Veanoes Restaurant is looking for paintings to display.
Old Business is about the Regional Art show. It seems that we are again not going to have one this year. Many art teachers are disappointed because it is also designed for student as well as local artists.
Kay brought the first copy of the DAS Directory Address book. She suggested that DAS history and a to do list be added. Sandy received the first copy.
The show for the Crittenden County Landmarks has not been scheduled. Those that went on the photo shoot are expected to have an artwork of the project. Correction on the newsletter is Kay went on the shoot not James.
NEW BUSINESS
Orpheum Art Auction was submitted by Loretta for those interested in entering. 75% of the sales will go to the artist.
The Door prize which was donated by Willie was won by Helen. There were no refreshments severed.
James did a demo on collage.
- Have your idea (if you don’t have an idea just start covering an artwork that you did not like with pieces.)
- Tear the paper into pieces.
- Apply water base glue to the pieces.
- To give more interest after you have glued the pieces paint over them to give it texture.
- Take your time (this will take a while with the individual gluing)
- You can also use tissue paper and a glossy medium to add more texture.
James is going to finish the piece for next month’s demo.
