The Delta Artists Society is a nonprofit organization composed of individuals joining together to encourage an interest in and an appreciation of the visual arts.

Thanks again, to Tommy Ramer of Evolve Bank, for sponsoring the Delta Artist Society Annual Fall Members Only Show, and also many thanks to Caroline Redfern for the use of the library for our show, and to Sherry Lovelady for printing the programs.

Congratulations to all the winners!  Bonnie Thweat’s Mixed Media  won BEST of Show.  First Place in oils went to Carroll Keys for his “Boat on the River” and first place in watercolor also went to Bonnie Thweat, for her “Silhouettes”

Second place winners were: Kaye Simpson for her oil painting, “Open Door” and Helen Ramsey, for her watercolor painting, “Autumn Gold”

Third place winners were: Sandy Younger, for her oil painting, “Roses in a Bowl,” and Clara Miller, For her oil painting, “Magnolias” Helen Ramsey for her watercolor painting, “Growing in Harmony” and Sara Bundy for her watercolor painting, “Ma Chou Pourpre”

Honorable Mention winners were: Loretta Nash in Mixed Media for “Butterfly2010,” “Lilies” By Carroll Keys, “Foggy went a’ courting”, by Kay Simpson, “Lincoln Woods, RI” by William Vance, “Porch Seating” By Sandy Younger, “Seen Better Days'” by Lydia Marconi in oils, “Sweet Summer Pears,””Southern Magnolias”and “Winter Morn” all by James House and “Dogwood” by Sara Bundy in watercolor.

HOSTESS, PROGRAM AND DOORPRIZE FOR NOVEMBER;

James House and Helen Ramsey will serve as host and hostess. Helen will also provide the door prize.  No program has been scheduled other than a discussion of the recent Art Show.

NOVEMBER BIRTHDAYS:

Happy Birthday greetings to James House, who celebrates his birthday on the 3rd and to Kaye Simpson, who will celebrate hers on the 10th.

DAS ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY:

This year, each member attending the party is asked to bring a handmade or hand decorated ornament to the party where they will be exchanged.  Also, as our charitable donation, each member is also asked to decorate a “shoe box” and fill it with personal toilet items and designate on the outside if it is suitable for a “male” or “female” recipient.  The boxes will be delivered to the 8th Street Mission in time for Christmas.  More information regarding the Christmas Party will be in the December Newsletter and/or the November Meeting.
